Depression and suicide are often closely related. Most people that commit suicide suffer from some sort of mental illness--commonly depression. If someone is talking about suicide, you should take it very seriously and tell them to get urgent help from their doctor, emergency room, or call 911.

Some Possible Suicide Warning Signs:

  • Hopeless feelings

  • Increased/excessive drug or alcohol use
  • Withdrawing from the world--friends, family, everybody
